Late/Absence Procedures

St Peter’s C of E Primary Academy Mansfield are committed to providing a comprehensive and proficient education for all pupils. The school sincerely believes that all pupils benefit from the education it provides and therefore from regular school attendance. To this end, the school will do as much as it can to ensure that all pupils achieve maximum possible attendance and that any issues, which may impede full attendance, are acted upon as quickly as possible.

We believe good attendance is when children attend at least 97% of the school year.  This equates to attending at least 185 of the 190 days when school is open to pupils.  This is only 5 days off for the full academic year.

As a school, we will not authorise any term time holidays, unless for exceptional circumstances.  If you remove your child during term time for a holiday, we will fine the family if the holiday meets the threshold as outlined in our Attendance Policy.

The doors for our F1 unit open at 8:30am.

Children in all other year groups should arrive at school between 8:40am and 8:50am.  The registers are completed at 8:50am, so any child arriving after that point will be marked as late.

A text message will be sent if your child has not arrived by 9am, which will be followed by phone call if we have not received a message by 9:30am.

If the child still has not been located by 10am, then a house call will be initiated and the police will be informed as we will presume that the child is missing.
