What a fantastic start to the year we have had! The children have really enjoyed learning all about Florence Nightingale and creating their very own fact file about her.
What a fantastic day KS1 had at Perlethorpe! The children leant all about the Nativity story, made fantastic Christmas decorations and even saw some real animals!
Science: Seasonal Change
The children have been using their observational skills this term to learn all about the seasons, we even made some fantastic season wheels with pictures to show what the weather is like at different times of year.
The children have had a fantastic time using the Beebots to learn about algorithms and simple programming. The children programmed the Beebot to get Stickman back to the family tree.
The children have been learning all about money this term in maths. we have been learin g about the different coins and how to add them together. The year two children have been doing a fantastic job! We all really enjoyed learing about money too.
We have been learning about Andy Goldsworthy in topic this week. He is an environmental artist who uses natural materials to create patterns and sculptures.
We wrote a fact file about him and made our very own peices of art inspired by his work.
What an exciting second half to the Autumn term we have planned for you!
Firstly, you are very welcome to come and look at the class homework projects on Friday 9th November from 2.45 pm until the end of the day. The children have been very proud of their efforts.
Our topic for this half term is 'toys'. If you have access to any old toys that you would be happy to share with us we would be very grateful if you could bring them in.
We have a Christmas trip planned to Perelthorpe for later in the term and it will be our job to 'wow' you all with a Christmas play at the end of the term.
It is looking like it will be a busy, but really good fun half term and we are very excited.

Our Topic next term is 'Toy's: Past and Present!
In maths the children have been learning about 'Place Value'. Mrs Masiden and I are very impressed with how hard the children are working, Year 2 can count all the way to 100 and Year 1 can count forwards and backwards. Amazing!
Key Stage One are really lucky to have a special PE coach to teach them new skills. The children have been working hard to control and pass equiptment to each other.
