If you have any problems with home learning, please let use know. We will add generic items, extra learning and links to support you at home to the class page with your feedback. We can't email you directly, but if you want to message us with any thing you have been doing or would like to share, we would love to hear it. Remember to learn, exercise, play games and help your families. Although we can't be with you in the classroom, we will do everything we can to support you at home.

Things to do at home.

  • Make some playdough:

1 cups of flour, ½ a cup of salt, 1 tbsp of vegetable oil, ½ cup of hot water, ½ cup of cold water. You can add food colouring or a squirt of child friendly paint for colour. Then microwave for a few minutes at a time, stirring in between.

 

  • Go into the garden and look for signs of spring. Buds on trees, daffodils, birds singing – Take some photos and add to Tapestry.

 

  • Plant an apple seed in a cup of soil, put it on the windowsill and see if it grows.

 

  • Have an indoor picnic.

 

  • Use your Read Write Inc cards to spell out words.

Welcome back from half term. We have lots of amazing things planned. We have already learned about Diwali, made firework paintings and a large poppy wreath for Remembrance Day.

This week we are reading Kippers Birthday. Writing a party list and having birthday parties in the Role Play area.

 

Kipper's Birthday

This week we have been learning about shapes and looking at triangles, circles, squares and rectangles. We used the shapes to make patterns and shape houses.

For our theme week we have been learning all about sharks!

We looked at a real sharks tooth, sang the 'Baby Shark' song, made a shark hats and looked on the internet to find out how big a Hammerhead shark is. We found out that it is 6 meters long and measured it out on the floor. We could fit 6 children into the 'shark'!

Some of us got eaten by a shark too! EEeeek!!

 

We have been having lots of fun learning about ourselves and our senses. We tasted different foods that were sweet, salty and sour then decided which taste was our favourite one. Not many enjoyed tasting sour lemons but everyone enjoyed sweet tasting food!

The Rainbow Fish

The book is best known for its morals about the value of being an individual and for the distinctive shiny foil scales of Rainbow Fish.

Welcome to Apple Class F2

 

Welcome back to school, and a special welcome to the children who have joined St. Peter's this year. The children have been having lots of fun and have been very busy. They have settled really well into being at school for a full day and all seem very grown up!

 

The Adults in Foundation are Mrs Taylor, Miss Thompson, Miss Harrison, Mrs Lawrence, Mrs Widdowson and Mrs Marland. 

 

PE

PE is on Tuesday afternoons, please make sure that your child has a PE kit in school; shorts a t-shirt, socks and plimsols or trainers, we will send them home at the end of each half term for washing. Please make sure that all items are named.

 

Lending Library 

Every Friday your child will choose a book to bring home to share with you, please remember to bring it back so that another one can be chosen. 

 

Every Day

Please bring in a water bottle for drinks during the day (no juice please) and your child will need a book bag to bring home their amazing drawings, letters and their Lending Library book.

 

The half term our topic is All About Me and Under the Sea. We are reading The Rainbowfish by Marcus Pfister, a book all about sharing.
