Oak Class

'Mighty Oaks from Little Acorns Grow.'

Welcome to the Oak Class page! I hope you have all had a fantastic break and are ready to come back to school refreshed and excited. I can't wait to see you all and hear about your holiday.

Here's a list of things you need to bring:

- Book bag and reading books

- Water Bottle

- PE kit

- A smile!

Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays but please be aware that this can change so please keep your kit in school all week. It's starting to get a bit chilly outside so it is a good a good idea to pack some tracksuit bottoms and a jumper too.

Each week we will be sharing a different story with the children in story time. Here is a list of what story will be read each week with a link to a video of it being read. It would be nice if you could either watch it together or read it (if you have the book) at home as well

What a fantastic week we have had! Year One and Two have been learning all about making numbers with tens and ones, it was a bit tricky at first but now our Year 2s can compare numbers up to 100.

Year 2 have been doing a fantastic job reading numbers to 100. Top of the leader board!

Wow! Look how busy the teachers have been over the summer creating exciting places for children to enjoy their favourite books. If you have any favourite books, bring them in and share them with your class.

Useful information for Grown-ups

In KS1 we like to ensure that you and the children feel happy and confident when coming into school. If you have any questions feel free to pop in, before or after school, and chat to either myself or Mrs Maiden and we will be happy to help. The children need bring their PE kit to school everyday, they can bring it in on Monday and take it home on a Friday. The children will have two PE sessions a week delivered by myself or a specialist PE teacher.

Each morning the children will have a phonics session followed by maths. The afternoon sessions are dedicated to the wider curriculum. It would helpful if you could read with your children at least three times a week. Year 2, will also have spellings to practice once a week, these will need to be handed in on a Wednesday.
