2017 Key Stage 2 Results

School performance is measured in many ways, one being the end of Key Stage 2 SATs.  This performance indicator measures the percentage of pupils reaching the expected standard.  The assessments give schools an attainment and a progress score. The attainment measure shows the number of pupils who achieved the expected standard (scaled score of 100) in reading, writing and maths.

The second measure is progress.  The progress measure shows how much progress has been made from KS1 to KS2.  All children will make progress but the measure compares St. Peter's to other schools nationally.  A school that scores a progress measure of 0 is making progress the same as other schools nationally.  A school with a negative score means that children have made progress, but less than other schools nationally.  A positive score means that pupils have progress more rapidly than other schools nationally.

Average progress score in reading: -1.0 (National 0)

Average progress score in writing: -0.6 (National 0)

Our KS2 results show a significant improvement in the percentage of pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths since 2016.  A rise from 33% to 55%.  Compared with national outcomes, the percentage of children achieving the expected standard is below other schools nationally.  However, our pupils are progressing broadly in-line with similar children nationally.
