St Peter’s Church of England Primary Academy Mansfield

Loving, Living and Learning with Jesus

Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to St Peter’s Church of England Primary Academy. Our school is a warm, caring and happy place and a stimulating environment, where children are at the heart of all that we do.

Our school aim is to love, live and learn with Jesus.  We believe that children learn best when they are secure, safe and having fun. Our target for all children is to leave St Peter’s as independent, confident, self-disciplined, enquiring and creative individuals, with the academic achievement necessary for the next educational phase.

I feel incredibly privileged and proud to lead the dedicated staff team at St Peter’s and I am very keen to help everyone at school to improve and reach their full potential. If you have a query or concern, do not hesitate in contacting myself or the school office.

James Marshall, Headteacher

Welcome from the Chair of Governors

As Chair of Governors it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St. Peter’s C of E Primary Academy Mansfield. The role of the Governing Body is to work closely with the Head Teacher and staff to provide the very best education within a Christian, caring environment. We are a highly committed and active Governing Body which places inclusivity, care and wellbeing of pupils and staff at the heart of everything we do. The Governors are responsible for monitoring and evaluating performance and effectiveness, thereby making sure the school continues to progress. We manage the budget, interview staff and ensure that the strong Christian ethos, long associated with our school, is upheld. We are proud to be affiliated to St. Peter’s Church, Mansfield, where we have whole school services twice a year, Easter and Christmas, to which parents, carers and relatives are always welcome. The vicar of St. Peter’s Church. The Rev. Caroline Phillips, is a very supportive member of our Governing Body.

Within the many extra-curricular opportunities offered to pupils, is the chance to find something that will develop their individual skills and qualities. I firmly believe that the children in St. Peter’s are fortunate to be receiving their primary education in our school, where they are taught and nurtured within a strongly caring, yet warmly disciplined environment.

All my three, now grown-up children attended this school. They are doing well in their careers, and all married with children of their own. I am very proud to be Chair of Governors of this school. Should you ever wish to contact me, my details are with the school office.

The following pages depict the many aspects of our flourishing school and the numerous opportunities offered to pupils. I am sure you will find them helpful and informative.
